La tratta dei bambini in Italia

Dallo sfruttamento sessuale, a quello in attività agricole, all’accattonaggio. Sono ancora migliaia in Italia i minori vittime di tratta, spesso soli e stranieri, che rischiano di non essere identificati e protetti. Bambini e adolescenti di entrambi i sessi che giungono per lo più dall’Est Europa, soprattutto da Romania, e Paesi africani fra cui Nigeria, Egitto, Marocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal. Vengono sfruttati non solo nella prostituzione, ma anche nel lavoro agricolo, nell’accattonaggio o in attività illegali. Molti sono minori migranti non accompagnati che approdano in Italia e poi scappano dalle comunità d’accoglienza. Sono i contorni della tratta di bambini e adolescenti in Italia così come emerge dall’aggiornamento dei profili dei minori vittime, realizzato da Save the  Children nel corso del 2009, sulla base della sua esperienza di lavoro sul campo e grazie alla preziosa collaborazione di molti enti e organizzazioni che si occupano di minori stranieri (accompagnati e non) sul territorio italiano.

There are still thousands of child victims of trafficking in Italy, often alone and foreigners, who risk not being identified and protected. Children and adolescents of both sexes who come mostly from Eastern Europe, especially Romania, and African countries including Nigeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Senegal. They are exploited not only in prostitution, but also in agricultural work, begging or illegal activities. Many are unaccompanied migrant minors who land in Italy and then flee from the host communities.  These are the contours of child and adolescent trafficking in Italy as it emerges from the update of the profiles of child victims, carried out by Save the Children in 2009, on the basis of its experience of working in the field and thanks to the valuable collaboration of many bodies and organizations that deal with foreign minors (accompanied and unaccompanied) on Italian territory.
